Benefits of Cold Laser Therapy for Sports Injury

Cold Laser Therapy

At Upchurch Chiropractic, we have shared the benefits of cold laser therapy with residents of Royal Oak, MI, for many years. many of our patients become interested in cold laser therapy after sustaining a sports injury. Read on to learn more about how cold laser therapy will help you recover from your injuries.

Discover the Healing Power of Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy employs a painless, cool laser light that our chiropractor uses to treat painful restricted joints and muscles. Our chiropractor uses this treatment alongside physical therapy treatments to accelerate rehabilitation.

Treatment without Discomfort

Cold laser light particles are small enough, there is no need to remove your clothes to receive the treatment’s full effect.  Some of our patients report feeling a slight tingling and most say they never feel anything except relief from pain afterward. By activating weak muscles, cold laser therapy produces improved manual muscle tests after treatment.

What to Expect

Because a cold laser therapy session only lasts between 5 and 20 minutes, patients often schedule an appointment during their lunch break on the way home. Our doctor will typically recommend 8-15 sessions depending on your injury.

While the effect of cold laser therapy is almost immediate and more noticeable a few hours after the treatment., the more treatments you have, the more likely your recovery will be permanent. While many patients experience a full range of motion immediately, if your pain is severe or chronic, you may need several treatments before noticing significant results.
